Vision-based fire detection · Digital twin

Early fire detection.
Informed response.

Detectium combines visible-light and thermal cameras with AI analysis and a digital twin — a 3D representation of your site — to detect potential fires, locate incidents and support timely decisions.

Deployed in animal farms across Finland and Sweden, and on industrial sites in the GCC.

Why visual detection

Cost-effective coverage, planned using a digital twin

Detectium uses 3D models to optimise sensor placement for the layout of each site. Comparing coverage before installation helps maximise fire protection while avoiding unnecessary hardware and installation costs.

Cost-effective deployment

Plan coverage around the site’s actual geometry

Storage racks, building structures and equipment affect what each sensor can observe. A digital twin allows different sensor positions to be assessed before committing to an installation.

  • Identify gaps in coverage. Assess sight lines and obstructions within the 3D model.
  • Use hardware efficiently. Compare sensor positions to improve coverage and limit unnecessary overlap.
  • Adapt to different sites. Plan around the layout of warehouses, agricultural buildings and industrial facilities.

Sequence

From sensor data to incident analysis

The system combines three stages: visual and thermal sensing, AI-based detection, and incident visualisation within a digital twin. Simulation helps operators assess how a fire could develop.

01 / SENSE

Combined visual and thermal sensing

A compact, industrially robust sensor package combines a visible-light camera with a thermal camera, providing complementary visual and thermal information across changing lighting conditions.

PLUG-AND-PLAY · >60 M RANGE
02 / DETECT

AI detection and scene analysis

AI models analyse camera images for signs of fire and unusual activity. A vision-language model adds a written description of the scene, including apparent materials and fire development, for operator review.

03 / SIMULATE

Incident localisation and simulation

Detected events are mapped to a 3D model of the site. Operators can assess the surroundings, simulate potential fire spread and review recorded incidents. Configured incident feeds support information sharing with response teams.

On-device vision-language models

Scene analysis to support incident assessment

A vision-language model is an AI system that interprets images and describes them in text. Running on the sensor, it adds information about the apparent material, location and development of a fire to support operator assessment.

Operator review

Review the event and its location, then follow the site’s established emergency procedures. Scene descriptions support trained personnel in assessing the incident.

Illustrative output, not a live incident or a validated operational report. Fields and integrations depend on deployment configuration.

Latency

On-device processing

Processing images on the sensor reduces the need to send data to a remote server for analysis. Response time depends on the model, hardware and scene.

Privacy

Configurable data handling

Local processing can reduce the need to transmit video. Video access, storage and report sharing are defined as part of the deployment configuration.

Resilience

Offline detection capability

AI analysis on the sensor can continue without an internet connection. Remote notifications and incident feeds depend on the connectivity available at the site.

In the field

Agricultural and industrial applications

Large spaces, demanding conditions and valuable assets make agriculture and industrial facilities important settings for early detection. Detectium reports deployments in Finland, Sweden and the GCC.
